We’ve all heard about the important role strong pelvic floor muscles play in preventing incontinence, promoting a healthy pregnancy, and a huge range of other health benefits throughout a woman’s lifetime. But did you know that your pelvic floor is also integral to maintaining spine, hip, and pelvic joint health? At Intimina our mission is to help women improve every part of their intimate wellbeing, and that includes giving them the knowledge and tools to strengthen their pelvic floor. This is why we’re excited to welcome Sara Strawn Demeure, physical therapist and board certified orthopedic clinical specialist, to our Medical Advisory Board.
“The pelvic floor plays a key role in back, pelvic, and hip function throughout a woman’s lifetime,” says Ms. Strawn Demeure, “it contributes to the stability of both your pelvis and your back, helping to prevent pain and dysfunction in your lower back and other pelvic muscles”. Ms. Strawn Demeure has 20 years of experience in orthopedics, sports medicine, and chronic pain, with a specialization in pelvic health. At her practice in Arizona she helps women retrain and strengthen their muscles to provide that much needed support to their bodies. Her advice to women is “Address any level of pelvic floor dysfunction as soon as possible! Never let any ‘slip’ in functionality or strength go. Create a health care routine for your pelvic floor just as you do with your dental health.”
Ms. Strawn Demeure joins the other 14 members of the Intimina Medical Advisory Board with the goal of bringing greater awareness to the benefits of a strong pelvic floor. We look forward to working with Ms. Strawn Demeure and incorporating her knowledge and experience into our mission to help improve women’s pelvic health world-wide.
